SOUTH DEERFIELD-William J. McGoldrick III, 84, of South Mill River Rd. passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Peekskill, NY, a son of William J. & Anne (Gallagher) McGoldrick. Bill enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving from 1958 to 1962 at the Coast Guard Training Center in Groton, Ct. He married Terrie E. Antonowicz on October 28, 1961, at Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and soon after they moved to South Deerfield to raise their family. Bill attended and received his degree in Criminal Justice from Greenfield Community College. Bill was an Electrician for many years working locally. He later became the Electrical Inspector for the Town of Deerfield, serving in the role over 25 years. He also worked as a Police Officer for the Town of Deerfield, as a Special officer for many area towns including Sunderland and Southampton and as a reserve Officer in his retirement. He leaves his beloved wife of 63 years, Terrie E. (Antonowicz) McGoldrick of South Deerfield. His children; William J. McGoldrick IV and his wife Helen of Texas, Michael P. McGoldrick Sr. and his wife Cynthia of Leyden, Wendy Houle and her husband James “Jim” of Sunderland, fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was sadly predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia McGoldrick. He also leaves his sisters; Diane O’Connell of Conway and Margaret Frost of Waterville, ME and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services and burial in Brookside Cemetery, South Deerfield will be announced in the Spring.
