Warren D. Jones Sr., affectionately known as "Chick" passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Warren was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on January 18, 1933.
He was a veteran of the Korean war which began in 1950. Once he returned stateside he married Irene T. Matrishon, they were married 61 years. Warren was a proud and loving husband and father.
Warren loved providing for his family, he started his own floor sanding and refinishing business that he maintained until he decided to take a position with the Northampton Housing Authority. When he retired he then began to spend more time with his grandchildren and sons helping with everything from home renovations to dog sitting to running errands to help make everyone's lives easier.
Warren loved to take trips and was often a co-pilot with his son's taking trips to their homes in Vermont and New Hampshire.
He loved to cook and was always preparing delicious foods to share with his family and friends at Tobin Manor. He enjoyed going to casinos with his friends and family, he loved to travel and would often speak about the family trips they would take when his children were younger. Warren loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his great grand puppies Diesel, Sasha, Layla, Halon and Magnum.
Warren is survived by his children Warren Jr and his wife Bobbie of Westhampton, Steven Jones of Williamsburg, and Robert and his wife Debbie of Williamsburg, his grandchildren Skylar, Kayla and Jacob who he cherished, his siblings Norman Jones, Larry Jones and Carol Mailloux and many nieces and nephews. Dad we will miss you.
He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Matrishon) Jones and his daughter in law Sheila Jones and his brothers John (Bev) Jones, Donald Jones, Gordon (Billy) Jones, Leslie Jones and his sisters Mary Anthony, Katherine K. Matrishon.
He leaves behind 3 siblings Norman, Larry and Carol and many nieces and nephews.
Warren was an incredibly genuine, kind, generous person always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed greatly and he will always be in our hearts.
CALLING HOURS WILL BE HELD FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13, FROM 9:00 A.M-10:00 A.M AT AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 BRIDGE ROAD, NORTHAMPTON WITH A FUNERAL HOME SERVICE AT 10:00 A.M. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. MARY’S OF THE ASSUMPTION CEMETERY, LEEDS WITH MILITARY HONORS.
