NORTHAMPTON-Viola S. O’Shepa, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Friday, September 22, 2023. She went home to Heaven, where she longed to be reunited with her late Mother, Father and her ten brothers and sisters. Viola was born in Ware on November 3, 1925 and would have been 98 years old in a few short weeks. She was born to the late John and Helen (Misiaszek) Chrabascz. She was married to Edward J. O’Shepa Sr. of Hadley, MA. and they raised six children of their own. Viola attributes her long life to her faith in Jesus. She enjoyed playing Bingo and making people laugh, telling jokes and pulling pranks. She was generous in giving to family and friends, but her greatest love was for her children. She loved babies so much; her favorite colors were pink and blue. Viola worked for 23 years at Smith College in the housekeeping department until her retirement. She was a longtime communicant of St. Valentine’s Church Polish National Church in Northampton. Her beloved husband of 62 years Edward, passed in 2010. Viola is survived by her children; Edward J. O’Shepa Jr.; Mary Maciorowski and her husband Paul; Nancy Morin and her husband David; Kathy Haskell, Michael O’Shepa and his wife Laurie and John O’Shepa. Her eight grandchildren; Chantel O’Shepa, Beth, Faith and Kyleen Maciorowski, Dave and Joel Morin, Michelle Morse, Kristen Whitlow and three great grandchildren; Haley Fournier, Katarzyna Morin and Lucas Whitlow. She was sadly predeceased. by her infant daughter Linda, granddaughter Amy, great granddaughter Violet Rose and her son in law David (Rabbitt) Haskell and her siblings; Zigmund (Ziggy), John, Stanley, Anthony (Bill), Sophie, Tona, Veronica, Anna, Stella and Mary. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 BRIDGE RD., NORTHAMPTON ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER. 29, 2023 FROM 10:00 TO 12:00 P.M. A PRIVATE SERVICE FOR FAMILY WILL BE HELD WITH BURIAL IN BRIDGE STREET CEMETERY, NORTHAMPTON.
