Leeds

LEEDS - It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas James Fenton, the best husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal friend and extremely hard worker, who unexpectedly left us on August 19, 2025 at the age of 67. Born on May 9, 1958 in Northampton, Massachusetts, Tom was a man whose greatest joy in life was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Kim, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and music. Tom had two children: Jen and Thomas, who were the source of endless pride. As a grandfather, he was unmatched — patient, playful, and full of stories. His grandchildren will forever cherish the special bond they shared with him. His lap was their happy place. Tom was known for his kind heart, sharp sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures — cuddling with his dogs, catching the latest movie at the theater with his grandson Ryan, and spending hours listening to music that moved him. The Dave Matthews Band held a special place in his heart; their songs were the soundtrack to many memories made over the years. Whether he was enjoying a meal with family, laughing with friends, or tapping his foot to his favorite tune, Tom lived in the moment and made everyone around him feel seen and loved. He is survived by his wife Kim, his children: Jennifer Tetreault and wife Meaghan, Thomas H. Fenton and wife Chelsea, his grandchildren Ryan, Evelyn, and Mackenzie, and his loyal dog Cassidy, who never left his side. Tom was also well loved by Kim’s family. He also leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the kind of quiet strength that can never be replaced. As the General Manager of Duffy Willard Paving and Excavating in Florence, MA, and former owner of an excavating and paving business, Tom shared his vast experience and unmatched knowledge with many customers throughout Western Massachusetts. He leaves behind his mark in every driveway, foundation, or construction project he completed.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. (Please dress casual, jeans and your favorite concert T-shirt, Tom would love that ! )

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Farm Aid at give.farmaid.org or Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA, in honor of his concern for family farms and those with food insecurities, and for his love of animals.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Tom will remain forever in our hearts — a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a good man who gave everything he had to the people he loved. "Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters." – Dave Matthews Band
