FLORENCE-Thomas E. Diemand, 87, of Ryan Road passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Tom was born in Northampton, one of eight children to the late Raymond & Margaret (Wentzel) Diemand. He was a lifelong Northampton resident, attending local schools and graduated from Northampton High School. Tom was the assistant Farm Manager for Smith Vocational & Agricultural High School for over 10 years, while simultaneously working for Agway in Northampton. He then began a career in Law Enforcement with Amherst College as a Campus police officer. He worked with the College for 33 years before his retirement. Tom married the former Kathleen Boyle, and they settled in Florence to raise their family. He enjoyed nature and being outside, especially hunting. He loved to mow his lawn and tend to his yard and garden. He enjoyed sports and watching Notre Dame football. Tom especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. His beloved wife, Katherine (Boyle) Diemand sadly passed away in 2018. Tom leaves his children, Theresa M. Perez and her husband Mark of Southampton, Pamela A. Diemand and her lifelong friend Carl Lulek of Leeds, Kelly A. Boyle of Goshen Thomas J. Diemand and his wife Jacqueline of Holyoke. His precious grandchildren; Jennifer Perez-Ramsden (David), Kate Perez, Amanda Boyle (Andrew LaBombard) and Jonathan Boyle. His great grandchildren; Natalee Hamel, Khloe Boyle, Emma Luna, Paige LaBombard, David Matthew Ramsden Jr and Jaxson LaBombard as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton. There will be a religious service at the Funeral Home at 3:45 P.M. Tom’s burial will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
