Susan Glenn

February 10, 1948 — March 8, 2023

Susan R Glenn, 75, of Leeds, MA passed away at her home on March 8th, 2023.

Susan was born on February 10th, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Harry Malcolm of Indiana, PA and Margaret Malcolm (née Miller) of Washington, PA. She had one older brother, Thomas Malcolm of West Chester, PA, who preceded her in death in February 2012.

She grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania and attended Conestoga High School in Berwyn, PA. Susan received her undergraduate degree in French from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. One of her favorite experiences in college was her time spent abroad in Paris, France. She later received her Master of Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.

On October 8th, 1973, while living in Brussels, Belgium with her then husband, she gave birth to the apples of her eye, her twins — Rebecca and William.

Susan (“Susie” to her many friends) had a wild streak in her younger days breaking many hearts and rules along the way! Susan was also an avid reader herself and had a rare gift for instilling a love of reading in her students. She was an amateur photographer, a yoga teacher and had a natural talent for art and fashion. She was enchanted by nature, found solace in being outdoors, and loved traveling to new and distant places. Susan was also full-fledged dog lover and an unabashed flaunter of leash laws. In recent years, she found joy visiting her daughter and grandson in Los Angeles, CA.

Her dearly beloved son, William Malcolm Glenn, preceded his mother in death in May 2016.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Berke; her grandson, Max Berke; her devoted partner of 25 years, John Greenwood, and the latest of her beloved Boxers, the sisters Moby and Pippi.

A public visitation will be held at Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd, Northampton, MA on Friday, March 17th from 9 to 11 am, followed by a private burial service.
