Obituary

HAYDENVILLE – Sherida “Sheri” (Sullivan) Cone, 75, of Haydenville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center with her family by her side.

Sheri grew up in Easthampton, the daughter of the late John and Madelyn (Beattie) Sullivan. She was educated in Northampton schools, graduated from St. Michael’s High School, and earned an associate degree in Secretarial Science from Holyoke Community College. She worked at the VA Medical Center in Leeds, provided compassionate care as a Hospice Home Health Aide, served as assistant to the late Fr. Vincent O’Connor at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Leeds, and later became the familiar, welcoming face that greeted generations of children and families in the front office at Anne T. Dunphy School in Williamsburg.

Though small in stature, Sheri had a larger-than-life personality and a wicked sense of humor. She was happiest with an ocean view and sand beneath her feet, discovering new places, trying new things, visiting with her friends, or spending time with her beloved dogs, Danny and Baile.

Sheri was predeceased by her husband, Alfred “Butch” Cone Jr. of Haydenville in 2007. She leaves her daughters, Kiernan Cone of East Longmeadow and Caitlyn Cone and her partner, Timothy Bergen, of San Francisco, CA; her grandchildren, Addison and Noah Rushford; her brother, Martin J. Sullivan and his wife, Kathy, of Haydenville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton, on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A visiting hour will also be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Religious Service at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cemetery, Haydenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheri’s memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society.
