Ruth Eleanor (Mollison) Dresser, 97, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at home. She was born on August 20, 1927, in Goshen on the family farm, the daughter of John Stewart Mollison and Emeline Tompkins. She attended Goshen Elementary School and Williamsburg High School, graduating in 1945, then attending Northampton Commercial College. Ruth worked at the Whale Inn, Northampton Cooperative Bank, Williamsburg High School, and Goshen Elementary School. She served on Goshen’s Board of Health, was active in the L.B.A. of Goshen Church and was a volunteer dispatcher for Goshen Fire and Ambulance. She was co-owner of Telectrad Service Center, with her husband, from 1951 till 2014. She enjoyed 63 years married to Francis Dresser, who passed away in 2014. It should be noted that Francis’ 55-year career as Goshen’s Fire Chief and Ambulance Director would not have been possible without the steadfast love, labor, and support of Ruth. The pair were true pioneers in emergency services, serving the town with selfless dedication for decades. Ruth is survived by her son Kim Dresser and his wife Annmarie; her son Kip Dresser and his wife Susan; her daughter Kit (Dresser) Rock and her husband Michael; her grandsons Kristopher, Stone, and Eli; and her granddaughters Michaela and Ripley. Ruth also leaves a great many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her brothers George, James, Harold, and Charles Mollison; and her sisters Elizabeth Mollison, Esther Korowski, and Lois Bacon. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren, her substantial collection of elephant figurines from around the world and participating in small town life and community in her beloved hometown. There will be a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, April 5, at 11 A.M. at John James Memorial Hall in Goshen. Memorial donations can be made to Highland Ambulance EMS, Inc., P.O. Box 842, Goshen, Ma. or Goshen Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 871, Goshen.
