Chicopee-Robert R. Asher, 68, formerly of Northampton, passed July 15, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Northampton March 2, 1956 to the late Robert and Genevieve (Gontarz) Asher. Bob leaves his brothers Ronald Asher of Longmeadow and James Asher of Easthampton, special friend Susan Pietras, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and canine companions Riley, Tucker, and Tigger. He graduated from Northampton High School in 1973, Florida State University in 1985, and Western New England College in 1997 with BS degrees in International Business and Computer Information Systems. Bob was a Vietnam Era veteran and served in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets and Rangers) from 1975 to 1985 and U.S Army Reserves from 1985 to 1999 and attained rank of 1st Lieutenant. He worked at Roadway Package Systems, Bradley Air Parking, and C&S Wholesale Grocers from 1986 to 2008 in various management positions. Bob enjoyed working around his home and visiting family. He was a great man and never hesitated to help others. His presence will be sorely missed. Bob, our beloved brother, until we meet again.
