Richard J. French, 54, of Williamsburg passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was born in Haverhill, Ma on November 16, 1969, and attended UMass Amherst, earning his degree in Biology. He settled in western Massachusetts, where he met his wife Kim and they raised their three children, Benjamin, Kira and Kamryn. He went on to have a career in the IT field, starting in a small consulting business with his close friend Dan. Most recently, Richard was Lead Infrastructure Engineer at ISO New England Inc.
Richard loved his home with his family and their small farm of pets. He loved to cook and was a music aficionado who kept a wish list of karaoke songs on his phone. He was an avid reader, with a great intellect and a passionate curiosity about science and life. He loved volleyball and played often with his daughter Kira. To everyone that knew him, he was gentle, attentive, warm, with a quiet but devastating wit. He was a rock to his family, and he will be forever missed and loved.
Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kimberly (St. Clair) French of Williamsburg, his son Benjamin, his daughters Kira and Kamryn, his brothers Andy French of Belchertown, Lloyd French of Indian Harbor, FL, and Bill French of Washington state, and his sister Mary French of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Debra. Richard will also be sorely missed by his extended family, Rebecca and John Perazella, Steven St. Clair, Jonathan and Deb St. Clair, Kerisa and Keith Fitzgerald, Katrina and Adam Ripka, and all his nieces and nephews.
CALLING HOURS FOR RICHARD WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, FROM 10:30AM-12:00PM AT THE AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 BRIDGE RD. NORTHAMPTON. A FUNERAL HOME SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 12:00PM. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW THE SERVICE AT ST. STANISLAUS CEMETERY IN EASTHAMPTON, MA. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society.
