Raymond R. "Ray" Tomasauckas

August 4, 1944 — October 16, 2024

Raymond R. “Ray” Tomasauckas, 80 of Goshen, passed away peacefully Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a brief illness with his family by his side. Ray was born and raised on South Street in Northampton by his parents Roy and Emily Tomasauckas. He graduated from Northampton High and worked as a machine operator for many years, retiring from Rexam Graphics. He continued to post graduate trade at Smith Vocational and then went on to Springfield Technical Institute.
Ray’s passion for skiing took him to Germany, Austria, France, and Switzerland. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren to ski. Ray also enjoyed carpentry, hunting, fishing, biking, camping, and canoeing at the D.A.R. Often he could be found on the CT River on his boat, enjoying the beach and swimming. He loved a good party, playing cards, or shooting pool. Ray was a member of the Northampton Athletic Club where he continued to work out up until a month before he passed. (Some would say he gabbed more than exercising!)
Ray leaves behind his wife of 41 years Lynn Tomasauckas, his brothers Ronnie and Rodney, his son Todd and his wife Judy of FL, his daughter Lisa and her husband Donald Smith of Florence, his beloved grandchildren Alaina Smith and Kayla Rogers and her husband Jonathan, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his former wife Ginette Eldridge, his brother Richard and sister Linda.
Calling hours for Ray will be held Wednesday, October 23, at Ahearn Funeral Home, Northampton from 4:00pm to 5:30pm with a Funeral Home Service beginning at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Valley Elder Services, 320 Riverside Drive Suite B Florence MA 01062. https://highlandvalley.org/
