CHICOPEE-Raymond J. McCoy III, 67, of Felix Street in Chicopee passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ray as family and friends knew him as, was born in Northampton on December 25, 1956, the best Christmas present his parents could ever receive. He was the son of Rose (Lesieur) McCoy of Florence, and the late Raymond J. McCoy Jr. Ray was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from Northampton High School in 1974. He enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving his country and was honorably discharged. Ray returned home after his deployment and was employed with Universal Plastics in Holyoke and had previously worked for Guard Air in Chicopee. He retired in 2023. Ray enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting in the woods of New England. Ray leaves his beloved wife, Christina (Fournier) McCoy, his loving children; Ryhan McCoy, Arynn McCoy and Trent Schieb all of Chicopee. His cherished grandchildren; Aurora, Barron and Colton. His siblings; Kathleen McCoy-Meunier (Brian) of Southampton, Marlene Pearson (Jeff) of Florence and Michael McCoy and Paul McCoy of Florence. He also leaves his dear aunts, Evelyn Dubois and Mary Anderson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, Raymond Jr., Ray was predeceased by brothers, Philip. Kevin and Sean. A Graveside service with the Catholic Rites of Committal will be held in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, 33 Adams St., Easthampton on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Ahearn Funeral Home is entrusted with services.
