Rachelle Thomas

Rachelle (Rutkowski) Thomas, 58, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Rachelle was born in Northampton November 14, 1965, the daughter of William and Carol (Raymun) Rutkowski. She was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from Northampton High School. While in high school, she was a member of the high school ski team. Early in her life, Rachelle was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition, but she did not let that slow her down. She accomplished many things that were not thought possible. She got married and defied the odds by having a child, her son Anthony. She raised her son by herself while working hard every day. Rachelle worked as a hairdresser for over thirty years at various local businesses. She most recently was working at Puffers Salon and Day Spa in Westfield. She enjoyed working with her clients everywhere she worked and will be greatly missed by everyone she worked with. Rachelle was a lover of animals and had rescued several animals over the years. Rachelle is survived by her loving and devoted son Anthony Thomas of Holyoke, her beloved parents William and Carol (Raymun) of Worthington, and her brother William and his wife Patricia of Northampton. Calling hours for Rachelle will be held on Monday, July 29, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. Followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11:00 AM.
