HOLYOKE -Michael Donovan, 57, was born in Northampton Massachusetts on November 8, 1966. Mike grew up in Worthington where he spent a lot of time outside, usually with a dog at his side. He attended Gateway Regional High School. He also attended High School in Brookline Massachusetts. Mike worked as a carpenter alongside his father Winston Donovan and several other local carpenters. Mike married Valerie Keyes and they had 2 daughters. Mike had a great sense of humor. He was witty, easy going, and non-judgmental. His daughters will attest that he had a way of making everything fun. Over the last many years Mike suffered many hardships, including a stroke with loss of the ability to speak. Mike had a spiritual nature and in the last 5 years enjoyed attending services at Chesterfield First Congregational church. Mike succumbed to his pain and illness in the ICU unit at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his family. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Mercy hospital for their expertise and sincerely loving care. The family would also like to extend great appreciation to Beaven Kelly Rest Home (Holyoke) where Mike called "home" for the last seven years. Mike is survived by his mother: Joan (Osgood) Donovan, sister: Traci (Owen) O'Donovan Daughters: Melinda Kaleta and her partner Rich Weber and Crystal Donovan and her friend John Mikalunas. Mike is preceded in death by; His father; Winston Donovan, his maternal grandparents; Kenneth and Harriet Osgood and his paternal grandparents: Zack and Crystal Donovan and his former wife: Valerie Keyes and stepdaughter Vanessa Keyes.
