Marlene (Dunn) Niesner, 87, of Northampton passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Marlene was born in Northampton on August 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Thomas) Dunn. She was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from Northampton High School in 1954. She continued her education at Holyoke Community College, focusing on courses related to banking and finance. Marlene worked in the banking industry for many years, ending her career as branch manager at Fleet Bank (now Bank of America) in 1998. Throughout her career, she continued to enroll in numerous banking and education courses. In her retirement, Marlene enjoyed spending time knitting, painting, especially theorem painting, and making crafts. She was a frequent visitor at Web’s in Northampton looking for the right materials for her projects. Marlene loved her four-legged friends, especially her cats. She was a devoted communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Northampton. Marlene was sadly predeceased by her parents and her sisters Dorothy Thomas and Audrey Liberacki Houle. She is survived by her sister Barbara Symborski and her husband George of Southampton, her brother Richard Dunn and his wife Judy of Chicopee, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
