Marion "Mae" D. Lococo

It is with a heavy heart that we say our final goodbyes to Marion “Mae” (McCarthy) Lococo, 98, who passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Bear Mountain at West Springfield.

She was born in Northampton on September 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Jack and Anne McCarthy. She was a lifelong resident of Northampton, Florence area, and was educated in the local schools.

Mae worked at Chart Pak in Leeds for 28 years and was a longtime volunteer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and the Northampton Senior Center.

She attended church at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Northampton, and a member of the St. Patrick’s Association.

Mae loved baking, knitting, and volunteering, and was an avid reader. She and Gus loved ballroom dancing and traveling with their many friends.

Mae was predeceased by her husband, August ‘Gus” Joseph Lococo, who passed away in 2015.

Mae leaves her children, Ricardo Lococo and his wife Olivine of Northampton, Bonita Lococo of Florence, Augustus Lococo and his wife Margaret of Springfield, and Lindsay Lococo of Greenfield; a sister-in-law, Doris Lococo; three grandchildren, Kelly LaValley of California, Jeanine Lococo of Michigan, and Jameshon LaValley and his wife Lynn of Connecticut; three great-grandchildren, Jameshon, Trinity, and Haley Mae LaValley, all of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mae were private.
