ENFIELD CT. Margaret (Marg) E. Kilmartin, 75, of Enfield, CT. was reunited with her parents Joseph and Anita Kilmartin and her fur friends Ozzie and Benj on 10/09/2024. Born in Hartford, CT. She lived most of her life in CT., with the exception of six dream come true years on MDI, Maine. Upon graduation from High School, she entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and remained a member for 18 years. This period of her life she held as a deeply profound blessing providing numerous opportunities and many cherished life-long friends. She graduated from Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. and obtained her Masters from Emmanuel College, Boston. Later she attended St. Joseph's In West Hartford receiving an Advanced Certificate In Counselling. Her life was dedicated to teaching, enjoying decades in this profession throughout CT. and Mass. She sought the potential in every student, made learning fun and inspired her students to not only learn to achieve status, but to generate goodness in the world, She enjoyed writing, swimming, biking, cooking, being in nature, and loving all animals. She loved quiet mornings. snow falling gently, autumn leaves rustling, the sound of a friend's voice, plotting April fool’s jokes, and cherished all Holidays, especially Christmas. She leaves her life partner Ann O'Connor with whom she share 41 wonderful, fun-filled and life-giving years. Her sister Trish and her husband Sumner Guillow of Spofford, NH. Special cousins Paul and Donna Raineault (Jess & Matt) of Newington, Jan Nicholson of Newington, Donna Schinitis of Meriden, Dan Yanotchko of S. Windsor. Many dear cousins in the Raineault, Schinitis and Mailloux families. She was predeceased by her cousins Diane and Joe Yanotchko and Doug Raineault. Sisters-in -law Kay O'Connor Holyoke and Kathy O’Connor of Belchertown. Brothers-in-law Tommy of Hingham and Joe (Mary) of Holyoke. She was predeceased by brother-in -law Pat O'Connor of Holyoke. Her dear friends Michaele Kelly, Nancy Haines and Kathy Daley all of CT. and Trish Hussey of Maine. Many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and 2 grandnephews, Whalen and Rhett O’Connor. To honor Marg's memory plant a tree, rescue a pet, hug a child, make someone laugh, hold a dying person's hand, BE KIND. At Marg's request, there were no services, and a private green burial was held at Wildwood Cemetery in Amherst, MA.
