Louis J. Luchini Jr., 78, of Holyoke passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Agawam South Rehabilitation Center in Agawam. Louis was born in Northampton on October 6, 1946, the son of the late Louis and Helene (Martin) Luchini. He was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from Northampton High School. Following graduation, he joined the navy and served his country honorably for five years during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked for the government doing maintenance. Louis loved life, music, and dancing. He co-owned Rahar’s in Northampton and later owned Luchini’s Restaurant, currently Jake’s. He was a scuba diver and went on many excursions with Hampshire Scuba. Louis was predeceased by his parents Louis and Helene Luchini. He is survived by his three sisters Nancy Benson, Christine Luchini, Sylvia Zakrzewski, and his two brothers Stephen Luchini, and Mark Luchini. A Funeral service for Louis will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at the chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA, with Military honors.
