Our beloved mom, Loreen “Weenie” Taylor Adams, age 72, of Northampton, MA left this Earth unexpectedly July 27th, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1953 in Northampton to Abner and Rosalind “Peggy” (Bolton) Adams. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Chris Chastain (2022), son-in-law John J. Previti, Jr. (2020), and many friends. She was a devoted mother to daughter, Jennifer Rosalind Previti and son-in-law David Hajjar of Woburn, MA, and son, Nicholas Taylor Stodulski and his fiancée Angela Matvejuk of South Hadley, MA. She was a loving Gramma to fur-grandbabies CoJo, Malcolm, and Leia. She is survived by two siblings, Linda Langlais (Adams) of Northampton, MA and Laurens Adams of Alabama, as well as two nephews and several cousins. In 2019, she retired from Northampton Schools, where she worked as a Para-Professional for over a decade. She took great pride in working with her students and made many warm and enduring connections during her time there. She found joy in going to school each day wearing unique earrings and having ready a new joke to tell the class, knowing that they became things her students looked forward to.
Loreen is remembered for her story-telling (often acknowledging herself her habit of “taking a connecting flight”) and her quick-wit. She loved to read on her porch, travel, begin each day with a cup of coffee, and never missed an episode of General Hospital, as long as she could be home to watch it. Anyone who knew her cannot see a lighthouse or frog without thinking of her; she was a dedicated fan of the Boston Celtics and was thrilled to play the slots in any casino. Loreen made friends wherever she went and had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. She naturally instilled in her children the values of honoring traditions, working hard, expressing gratitude, and giving heart-felt, handwritten notes to loved ones. What she cherished most was quality time with those she loves and who love her, and always finding ways to make others laugh and feel special.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10am – 12pm at Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge RD. Northampton, MA, with funeral service beginning at 12:00pm. Following the service, Loreen’s remains will be buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, along with the remains of her late husband, Chris.
