James M. Myers

Florence - James M. Myers, 66, of Florence, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 14, 2023. James was born on May 12, 1957, in Morgantown, West Virginia, son of James P. Myers and Barbara (Stalnaker) Myers. James was educated in local schools and completed his graduate education at UMass Amherst. James spent his career serving those affected by traumatic brain injuries. He was employed by the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission's contracts for statewide head injury programs for 30 years. James enjoyed spending his free time outside enjoying nature and fishing. He loved composing music, learning many instruments and playing music with friends. He also enjoyed the company of his two devoted dogs. James is survived by his loving wife Joanne Katz, his daughter Carly Rae Myers and her partner Maxwell Weinstein, his sister Christa Myers and mother Barbara Myers. All services for James will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family. Ahearn Funeral Home has been entrusted with James' care.
