Helen A. Torrey

Helen A. (Fogg) Torrey, 77, of Florence, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Helen was born July 20, 1946, in Northampton to John and Arabelle (Knox) Fogg. She was raised in Chesterfield and attended local schools. Helen continued her education at Holyoke Community College, where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing License. Helen was very proud of her LPN license. She worked at various medical facilities in the area and took great pride in the work she did. She was a kind and caring person. Following her retirement, Helen enjoyed spending time at the beach whenever possible. In 1974, Helen married Wayne Torrey and they celebrated 50 years of love, family and memories until her passing on their anniversary date. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her son Otis Sears, her brother Jimmy Fogg, and her sisters Joan Rodriguez, and Joyce Shipp. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Wayne Torrey, her daughter Thirza Flechsig of Easthampton and her daughter-in-law Kristina Sears. Her granddaughters; Amanda De Los Santos and Jessica Sears. She also leaves her brother Jack Fogg and several nieces and nephews. CALLING HOURS FOR HELEN WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 7, 2024 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 P.M. AT AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 BRIDGE RD., NORTHAMPTON. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date.
