FLORENCE- Gregory Burgess, 65, of Florence, MA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Gregory was raised in Hingham, MA and was a graduate of Hingham High School Class of 1979. Gregory was an accomplished goalie for the Hingham Harbormen Hockey Team and had the unique privilege of traveling with the United States Junior Olympics Hockey Team to Holland and Finland. Gregory was an easy-going and soft-spoken gentleman who was thoughtful and kind. Prior to retiring, he was the owner and operator of GB Restoration. Gregory is survived by his sons; Samuel Burgess of Enfield, CT. and George Burgess of Charlton, MA. He leaves his former wife and dedicated friend, Jeannette Tibbetts of West Brookfield, MA. Gregory was one of nine siblings: Deborah Murphy of Kingston, MA, George Burgess, and his wife Beth, of Rockwood, ME, Christopher Burgess, and his partner Kathleen Gordon, of Orleans, MA, Elizabeth Berenz, and her husband Thomas, of Hanover, MA and Marjorie Severance, and her husband Shawn, of Bourne, MA. Gregory was predeceased by his parent George and Anne Burgess, his brothers John, Frederick and Robert and his niece Katherine Murphy. Gregory is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. All services are private.
