George Walker Jr. of Leeds MA. went home to be reunited with his Veterans/ Vietnam brothers, on June 10th, 2023.
George was born in Americus, Georgia to Lucille (Milledge) Walker and George Walker Sr.
He moved to Holyoke MA, in the early 50's, and attended the Holyoke School System. George joined the United States Air Force in 1957. After completing his tour of duty, he returned home to Holyoke MA. He re-enlisted in the United States Army in 1963, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant, where in most notably served in company B 3rd Battalion, Airborne 503d Infantry. His tour of duty ended in 1972. During his tour he received several medals for his bravery in combat.
George was a kind, compassionate man, with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to help his family members, without question. He loved R&B music and loved to sing.
George was given loving care by the amazing CLC staff at the VA Hospital in Leeds, from December 2019, until his passing.
He is survived by his siblings, Tammy Donoghue-Walker of Leeds MA, Terry and Mark Walker of Holyoke MA, Franceen Walker McDonald of East Longmeadow, Bonnie Walker of New Bedford MA, and Jonnie L Walker and his wife Iris in Atlanta Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend of the family, Faye Wilson of Northampton MA.

He was predeceased by his remaining siblings, Jonnie B. Walker, Bess Walker Emery, Patricia Walker Stewart, Charlie Walker, Gary Walker, Vincent Walker Silla Walker, and Howard (Billy) Walker.
All funeral services to be determined are private.
