George O. Henry Jr.

November 18, 1934 — November 4, 2023

George Orson Henry Jr. 88 passed away on November 4, 2023 due to complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was the son of George Orson Henry Sr. and Edith Ida Henry. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Louise R. Ward Henry, four sons; G. Douglas (Debbie), Clifford R. (Marie) and twins, Jeff and David. He had 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Northampton High School, he served in the U.S. Army for 3 years mostly stationed in Germany. As a licensed electrician he was employed by the National Felt Co. in Easthampton for 39 years.
He was active with the Williamsburg Grange #225 for over 50 years. He was a member of the Hampshire Masonic lodge of Williamsburg for over 50 years where he was a member of the Scottish Rite. He served the Haydenville Fire department for many years. He was also a long-time member of the Haydenville Congregational Church.
He loved animals and enjoyed observing nature. He enjoyed feeding the birds and was fond of his many adopted cats over the years.
No memorial service is planned. Gifts in lieu of flowers can be made to the Haydenville Congregational Church and sent c/o Ahearn Funeral Home 783 Bridge Road, Northampton, MA 01060.
