Gary S. Krol, 72, of Easthampton, passed away surrounded by family on November 2, 2025. Gary was born in Greenfield, MA, to Thaddeus Krol and Stephie Szewczyk on March 29, 1953. He grew up in Greenfield and attended local schools, graduating from Greenfield High School before going on to college, where he earned his Master’s degree in Management from UMass. He worked as a business manager for several years at StanHome, General Cigar, Webster Vet, and Patterson Dental. Gary was a member of Mass Audubon since 1975, volunteering at Arcadia for several years. He played electric bass for many local bands, including the Green Lanterns and the Clear Spring Quartet. Gary loved hiking, biking, and kayaking. He especially loved being outdoors and spending time in his kayak. Gary will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Krol (Linehan) of Easthampton, MA; his son Nathan Krol and his wife Hanna of Suffield, CT; his daughter Jaimye Kelley and her husband Jimmy of Monson, MA; six grandchildren—Tristan, Sienna, Paige, Amelia, Leo, and Eddie; three brothers—Thaddeus Krol and his wife Susanna of Friday Harbor, Washington; Ronald Krol and his wife Loraine of Arvada, Colorado; and Brian Krol and his wife Dorothy of Bedford, New Hampshire; one sister, Pat Krol and her husband Steve of Chestnut Hill, MA; along with several nieces and nephews. Services for Gary will be held privately. The family would like to thank the angels at Hospice of the Fisher Home for the loving work they do. |
