Edward A. Michalowski

NORTHAMPTON - Edward A. Michalowski, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Ed was born in Northampton, the son of the late Edward and Stella (Gesiorek) Michalowski. He received his education at Hopkins Academy in Hadley and Holyoke Community College. He enlisted and proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. He married Patricia Ann Norman on July 25, 1970, and was a lifetime resident of Northampton. Ed began a long career in the Offset Printing & Manufacturing field. He worked for over 40 years for several companies including Advanced Offset Printing, Southern Litho, International Papers, Stark Laboratories, and Kodak. Ed and Pat were devoted communicants of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Florence. He was a member of the American Legion Post 271 in Hadley and the Northampton Elks Lodge 997. Ed’s greatest joy was being with family and friends, and participating in sports and activities. He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia (Norman) Michalowski, his son Jim and wife Shira of Chicago, and son Tom and his wife Amy of Holden. He leaves his six grandchildren Jacob, Leah, Lilly, Claire, Aidan and Jackson. He also leaves his sister Anne Smolen and her husband Robin of Hadley, his sister-in-law, Donna Almstead and her husband Ray of Deerfield, and several nieces and nephews. A FUNERAL MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED TUESDAY, JANUARY 2 AT 10:00 A.M., AT ANNUNCIATION CHAPEL OF ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON CHURCH, 85 BEACON STREET, FLORENCE, MA.
