Dorothy L. Boyington of Northampton, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, at Linda Manor Extended Care.
She was the daughter of Steven and Louise Casagrande and one of seven siblings, all of whom pre-deceased her. She is also pre-deceased by her beloved husband Roy Boyington.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sakowicz and husband Gene of Southampton and by her son, Timothy Walko and wife Ann of Northampton. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Eric and wife Nicole, Brett and wife Jen, and Matthew, one great granddaughter, Makenna, and three step grandsons, Nick, Evan, and Brandon.
Dorothy worked for many years at Morrison Optician and was very proud of having attained her optician's license. She also worked at Prophylactic Brush Company in Florence, the Goldmine Restaurant, and Smith Vocational School as a hostess and instructor in the Culinary Arts Department.
Dorothy enjoyed writing poetry, going to concerts and shows with Roy, and spending time at the shore in Ogunquit, Maine. She took great pride in her Italian heritage that instilled strong, family values.
Her father immigrated through Ellis Island and worked hard to achieve the American dream. Undoubtedly, Dorothy's greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she will be missed by all.
