David J. Nunez, 56, of North Main Street passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, October 31, 2024.. David was born in Gary, Indiana, a son of Peggy (Moore) Andrianopoulos and Jon Nunez. He grew up locally, attending central MA schools and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a bachelor’s degree in business. David owned and operated his own Home Improvement business. He was a talented craftsman and carpenter in all phases of construction, residential or commercial. Most recently, he had successfully passed his Captains License and was a Captain for Boston Harbor Cruises, piloting the Charlestown and Aquarium route. He owned the Meadows Golf Course in Greenfield, for many years. He was adventurous, always up for a challenge, and loved learning new things, working as a ski instructor, repairing cars or owning his own frozen treat concession, Stuffit Bananas. He loved the outdoors, whether golfing, boating, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, or enjoying life with family and friends – a good-natured prank on family and friends was his signature. David is survived by the mother of his daughters, Ali Brannan Brunelle; his beloved daughters Sarah Nunez of South Deerfield, Grace Nunez of South Hadley and Kendell Kamansky of Williston, VT. His devoted mother, Peggy Andrianopoulos of Marston Mills and his father Jon Nunez of FL; his siblings, Christopher Andrianopoulos and his wife Bianca, Casey Nunez and Jason Nunez, his dear sister Jenna Kornichuk and her husband, Greg, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton. There will be a Service of Remembrance at the Funeral home at 11:00 A.M. David will be cremated, and his ashes will be interred with private family services.
