SOUTH DEERFIELD- Daniel E Benedisuk, 77, of South Deerfield passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. Dan was born in Northampton on April 27th, 1947, he is the son of the late Eugene and Sophie (Hmielewski) Benedisuk. Daniel was a decorated Army veteran and proudly served as a Staff Sergeant with the 2nd Battalion of the 27th Infantry Division. After returning home, he became a skilled welder and in 1978 began a 21-year career as a firefighter with the Northampton Fire Department, serving several years as Deputy Chief. He met Sharyne Serino in junior high, and they were married and shared over 60 years of love, family, and great memories. He loved vintage cars, oldies, dogs, sweets, his family, and his wife.
Daniel leaves his beloved wife, Sharyne (Serino) Benedisuk. His devoted daughters; Cheryl A. Pittsinger and Michele F. Benedisuk-Keyes, and his son-in-laws, Donald R. Pittsinger and Lucas E. Keyes, as well as his two cherished grandchildren; Ian D. Pittsinger and Kevin J. Pittsinger. He also leaves his siblings; Michael Benedisuk, his wife Jean, and Susan Benedisuk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge Joan and Lewis Carter, as well as Debra and Jerry Howes, for their many years of support and love.
