Christopher M. Cowan, 57, of Easthampton passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by his loving family after a very brief illness. Christopher was born in Holyoke, Ma on October 6, 1967, the son of Michael Cowan and Frances “Betsy” Bell. Chris was born into a Navy family, so he spent his younger years traveling to various military locations. He would eventually join the Navy himself, serving as a Corpsman in the Navy reserves. Chris dedicated himself to taking care of others. Starting nursing school in 1989, and eventually receiving a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Chris most recently worked for the Hampshire County House of Corrections in Northampton and The Hamptons MediSpa in Southampton. Prior to this he spent many years working at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield in various nursing roles. When he wasn’t working Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved music and attended lots of live events. He also enjoyed traveling both with his wife and dear friends. Chris will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Lisa (Schall) Cowan, his two sons: N. Keegan Cowan and Ryan Thomas Cowan of Easthampton. His father Michael Cowan of Walpole, NH, his brother Sean Cowan of Torrington, CT, and his sister Jennifer Luisi of Torrington, CT. Chris was predeceased by his mother Frances “Betsy” Bell. He also leaves behind many sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Christopher will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd, Northampton, followed by a Funeral service at 5:00 pm.
