NORTHAMPTON-Charles J. Mazeski Jr., 77, of Northampton, passed away on April 28, 2024 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Charles was born in Northampton August 27, 1946, the son of Charles and Muriel (Schumann) Mazeski. He was raised in Northampton and attended local schools, graduating from Northampton High School in 1964. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marines. He served his country with honor for four years during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Staff Sargent. Upon returning home, Charles entered the plumbing trade. He became a master plumber and owned and operated Charles Plumbing and Heating Company in Northampton for many years. Charles also served as the plumbing and gas inspector for the City of Northampton for a period of time. After he retired, he enjoyed farming, fishing and boating. Charles loved his family and was very devoted to them. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Linda Pirog Mazeski, his sister Kathleen Long of Northampton, his niece Jennifer Long, his nephew Mathew Long, and his dog Dixie. Charles was predeceased by his parents, and his brother William. A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR CHARLES WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 7, AT 2:00 PM AT THE CHAPEL OF THE MASSACHUSETTS VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 1390 MAIN STREET, AGAWAM, MA, WHERE CHARLES WILL BE BURIED WITH MILITARY HONORS.
