Betty Jean Grayson, 66, of West Street in Northampton passed away on Feb. 11, 2025. She lived in Boston and worked as a certified nursing assistant. She moved to Northampton in 2006, and attended Holyoke Community College, majoring in sign language, and deaf studies. She enjoyed cooking and meditation. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Holyoke and attended Bible study. She was a member of the Northampton Recovery center and volunteered there for many years. She also had a sense of humor and was known for her jokes. Her wisdom she loved to spread with others to offer advice, and knowledge she felt was helpful to help someone with resources. Betty leaves her children; Jennifer Grayson of Florence and Jacob Grayson of Boston, four grandchildren. Her sister, Kathleen Blanchard and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; James Grayson and Maeola Taylor and her brothers; James and Cleve Blanchard. The family will receive friends at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. with a religious Service at the Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Theresa Temple, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Holyoke. Burial will follow in Spring Grove cemetery, Florence.
