Hatfield – Ann M. Jewers (Nana) 84, passed on January 27, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center with family by her side. Ann was born October 4, 1940 in Boston, MA. She lived at Capawonk Senior Living in Hatfield, MA for the past 13 years. Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband Robbie Jewers, sister-in-law Donna Walsh, and mother E. Ann Schneider all originally from the Boston area.
Survived by her family Debbie & Paul Fantucchio of Charlemont, Robin & Mark Kelleher of Hatfield, Kim Jewers & Scott Myers of Hatfield, MA. Brother and sister-in-laws Carol Cotter, Jerry and Gail Jewers, Kevin Jewers, Roberta and Joey Mongello, David and Debbie Jewers. Plus her grandchildren and spouses Mia & Henry Burek, Dana Karlson, Katie Kelleher, Raymond, Tony & Ashley Fantucchio, Jeffrey, Sabrina, & LeahAnn Sparda. She also had 5 great-grandchildren Louis, Lyla, Millie Burek, Daxon Karlson & 4 month old Ethan Fantucchio & many nephews, nieces, great nephews & great nieces as well.
Ann graduated from High School in Miami, FL then moved to Boston and became an Airline Stewardess where she met her beloved husband, Robbie who served 4yrs in US Air Force. They married in 1961 and raised their family in MA. She waitressed for over 40yrs, helped her husband maintain the family's pool business and loved the life they created until retiring in FL. For 20yrs they traveled together back and forth from Port Orange, FL to Mohawk Park in Charlemont, MA making friends wherever they went.
Never one to sit still, she volunteered her time at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Cafe and the Senior Center of Hatfield where she prepared meals for 6 years. Her passion was creating exquisite quilts, cross stitching and crochet pieces, handmade dolls, Christmas stockings and so many other projects for the family. These gifts are treasured and used by her loved ones and will be for many years to come. She also had a gift of making others feel happy, appreciated, and her smile was infectious.
Ann loved all the adventures and travel with her husband, Robbie and family from boating, entertaining, walking on the beaches of FL, collecting shells, but most of all being with her family for all occasions!
Ann will be missed and remembered every day by many, including her large family, friends near and far, as well as her new friends from Capawonk of Hatfield where she played bingo, went on day trips, had holiday parties together along with their weekly visits to Fishtales Bar & Grill. A Celebration of Life will be announced within the next month to be held at Fishtales in Hatfield, MA. All family and friends are welcome to join us for the celebration of our Beloved mom, Ann Jewers. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to do so, donations to the Hatfield Council on Aging, 59 Main Street, Hatfield MA 01038 can be made in her honor.
